Last week two bus loads of the best Junior High and High School students around returned home from a week at Hume Lake. While at Hume our students were given the challenge of removing themselves from the “driver’s seat” of their lives and instead to let God take complete control of their lives. As is typical when you remove students from their daily routines and put them in a place where they can concentrate on what is important, students responded. Some students decided to follow Jesus for the first time and many more deciding to recommit their lives to following Jesus. Please join me in giving credit where credit is due by thanking God for making himself real among the students of St. Andrew’s while at Hume Lake.

Oh yeah, on another note. Students also might comment on how much fun they had paint-balling, blobbing, eating/drinking milkshakes, recreation time, 2 mile dam swims, free time, night games, etc.

Check out these videos of the team currently in Haiti. The team of 10 arrived safely Tuesday morning. Half the team is working in a medical clinic and half the team is building a home for a family that lost their house in the earthquake. Stay tuned for more updates.

With the start of the new-year, new-decade, and new semester upon us, The Refuge (our high school mid-week program) spent the month of January talking about the theme of “New Beginnings.” Our theme verse was 2 Corinthians 5:17. We explored the verse through an interactive labyrinth, personal testimonies and worship as a response to the good work that God has done.

During the series, 14 students made first-time decisions to follow Christ and many others recommitted their lives to following Jesus. This video is a celebration of the work that God is doing in the lives of the students who came to faith in Him for the first time, and also some of those who recommitted their lives.

The Haven College group is raising funds for Urbana Missions Conference in St. Louis, MO by holding a flamingo flocking fundraiser…

You can give us a donation to place a lovely flock of pink lawn flamingos on the friend’s lawn of your choice! This usually happens after dark, and then they are able to then pay to have them moved to another lawn, or we will remove them at no charge to another lawn that has been predetermined. Donations are $20.00 or freewill donations of higher are accepted.

We will have a table set up at weekend services the next two weekends as well, come talk to us!

We still have about $5,000 were trying to raise before December 27th, so help if you can!
