Third Grade Milestone: Living Biblically

When we think of a milestone, we think of a rite of passage, a landmark of one’s life, but this milestone is so much more.  The “Third Grade Milestone: Living Biblically” is the beginning steps of one’s walk with Jesus.  When you receive your very own Bible, it has to change you!  You are now holding God’s Word, God’s Truth, and He gave it to you!  This is our hope as we took on this Milestone and made it more than an event, but a treasured gift.

This weekend, please join us and welcome the newest members of our adopted family.  Our Third Graders, both from our weekend worship service and our WATCH program, will receive their very own Bibles.  These children have worked for the past six weeks, not only learning scriptures, but understanding how to use their Bibles.  They learned that the Bible is not only a special book, but an extension of their spiritual walk with Christ.  That each verse they memorize, the creeds that they walk through, the verse that tells them “do not let them look down upon you because they’re young” become real, and so does God!  This milestone is the beginning of a life-long journey that is based on truth that sets them apart from the ways of the world.

The mid-week class became a Life Group by experiencing God together.  Each week they grew in the Lord.  They were uniquely led through the Bible with amazing leaders Jim Upton and Deana Docter and Ray and Stacy McCullough.   Our WATCH children will also led by the leadership of Janice Zorn, Pam Gargan and Jeremy Searcy.

So please join us for a Cake and Punch reception directly after the Saturday 5:30 p.m. service; and Sunday 9:30 a.m. and the 11:11 a.m. services.

By the way, when you see a child with a Bible, maybe with a punch-stained smile, congratulate them, encourage them and most importantly pray for them!
