God on the Move: New Zealand

July 13th, 2010

The Firman family from Auckland, New Zealand has been travelling down the California coast this past month and spent the week in Newport Beach going to the beach and riding bikes they bought at Kmart. Since it’s the end of their trip and they’re heading back home they figured they should give away their bikes to a needy family so they pulled their rented RV into our parking lot and unloaded 4 gently used bikes, toys and accessories.

We told them that we have many needy families that can use their gifts but especially the orphans down in Tecate that our team will be visiting next week. How blessed they’ll be to finally have bikes to ride and mountain bikes at that!

Isn’t it cool to see God connect this family from New Zealand to the orphans in Tecate?

God is still on the move on our summer road trip. Where has He been taking you? We want to hear from you. Share your stories by clicking the “Highlight What You’re Doing!” link at the top of the page!

Yoga for Beginners

May 6th, 2010

Join us Thursday nights, begining TODAY, May 6, for a Yoga for Beginners class from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in Room 019. Our own Kristin Storey is a newly certified yoga teacher and is going to be teaching her first set of classes here at St. Andrew’s! The class will be offered for 2 months. All are welcome to attend, but the class will be designed for the beginning student who is either fairly new or brand new to yoga.

Bring a yoga mat (there are only a few available to borrow), a tie (for stretching – 1.5” x 6-8′), and two large towels (for sitting on). Determine what you can afford and bring that as well – the class is by donation. Try to come 5-10 minutes early to relax and get situated before the class starts. Dinners for 10 Recap

January 27th, 2010

Dinners for Ten this past Sunday, January 24, was a great success! We had over 200 people from the St. Andrew’s family enjoying dinner with one another across Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Huntington Beach and Corona del Mar! It is our goal to create an atmosphere of fellowship and fun over food where strangers within the St. Andrew’s family can meet and become friends. We are so thankful to our hosts who opened their homes to new friends and to those who signed up to participate in this opportunity out of a willing desire to start new friendships. If you have not signed up for the February dinners, you don’t want to miss out on this wonderful experience!
