Young Adults Couples Retreat

The young adult couples just returned home from a couples retreat in Cambria this past weekend. We had 12 young couples in attendance and an incredible speaker who led us through various scripture passages that helped us understand God’s call on marriage as a transformative ministry. Over half of the couples had one-on-one counseling with the speaker and everyone in attendance greatly benefited from the solitude, stillness and reflective time initiated by our speaker, Bill Dogterom.
We enjoyed long walks into the small town of Cambria, exploring the tide pools, a pumpkin carving contest, hours of gazing at the crashing waves and valuable time with our spouses and one another.

We want to urge those couples to register as we have support for partial scholarship funding available to help get as many as possible on the retreat. Young Adult’s Couples Retreat
November 4th, 2008
10 young adult married couples drove up to Cambria for their 3rd annual retreat this past weekend. They stayed in 3 beach homes, all within walking distance from each other. Jim and Marta Birchfield led the retreat, focusing on the theme of viewing and treating marriage as a ministry to one another, to God and to the church.
A few highlights include:
On Saturday, couples either walked or drove into downtown Cambria for some great food and fellowship (Mmmm, chicken pot pies). It is truly a relaxing and unique town.
On Sunday morning, couples ended the retreat by sharing communion with their spouse. What a great experience!
