A Few More Highlights from Royal Family Kids’ Camp

One of the two daily assemblies in the amphitheater. The song is “Jesus loves me, this I know; for the Bible tells me so.” Everybody would recognize the words. But, hearing it sung by the band and kids in a “rock” mode or a calypso mode is lots of fun.

One of the kids doing carpentry work for the tree house by the creek. The tree house construction is totally up to the kids.

On Thursday, a large contingent from St. Andrew’s came down for the day to put on a “birthday party” for all the kids. It is really a carnival with birthday cake. There are a dozen or so different games where every participant wins a prize. There is also a very popular face painting table that kids, counselors and staff also use. Bill McCracken, a St. Andrew’s member who spends the week at camp helping kids with the woodworking projects (and other duties) got in the spirit of the event and got his head painted.
Thanks again for all your prayers!

Camp is going great. There are a ton of smiles on the kids’ faces. This is an extraordinary camp this summer. There are two photos below. First is of one of the kids building a birdhouse at the woodwork station at camp. The kits that are put together for the woodworking are from a team at St. Andrew’s. They include clocks, doll cradles, jewelry boxes, stools, bug cages, wooden snakes, birdhouses and much more! The other photo is of the kids fishing for crawdads in the creek that runs through the camp. Panning for gold occurs a little further down the same creek. Thanks for your prayers!

Hello from Royal Family Kids’ Camp!
The weather is great down here in Vista.
There are 102 kids, and around 150 adults (counselors, support staff, etc.) at the camp this year. We are having a wonderful time with the “Olympic” theme – dressing up in “Olympic” attire, decorating each cabin as a different country. The kids are connecting with the praise music from the worship band. There are tons of smiles everywhere you look.
We are busy telling the kids that Jesus loves them, whether we are in the cabins, eating with one another, during activity time and in worship. Our purpose down here is to put a smile on their face and hope in their hearts. More updates to come! Take a look at the photos below.
